Get started on your adventure by heading towards the Milawa and King Valley regions. Here you will find unbelievable local produce from the Milawa Cheese Factory, Milawa Mustards and EV Olives just to name a few. The small townships of Milawa and Oxley is where your own discovery of local wineries can begin with Brown Brothers, Sam Miranda, John Gehrig and more. Once stocked up with all the local goodies, head up the road to discover the picturesque surrounds of the King Valley, coming across family owned and operated wineries such as La Cantina, Gracebrook Vineyards, Dal Zotto Estate Wines, Pizzini Wines, Station Creek, Paul Bettio, Chrismont Wines and many more. From the King Valley you can make your way over the mountain to Mansfield, or come back on the Wangaratta-Whitfield Road and cross over the freeway to Glenrowan to experience the true history of the region with Ned Kelly and the Gang.

As mentioned if you’re feeling adventurous, get out on the mountain bike and jump on the Murray to Mountains rail trail which will lead you from Wangaratta all the way up to Myrtleford, Bright and can loop back around through Beechworth. While up this way you will find plenty of places to dine out, as well as local boutique breweries for an ale;The Bright Brewery and Bridge Road Brewers in Beechworth.
