Benalla P-12 College Debutant Ball Shines at Winton Motor Raceway

Winton Motor Raceway was proud to welcome the Benalla P-12 College community for the 2026 Benalla P-12 Debutant Ball, held in the Showroom on Friday 18th September. The event brought together students, families, friends and staff for a memorable evening, showcasing the versatility of Winton's facilities while celebrating an important milestone for local young people.

Preparations began on Thursday as staff from both Winton Motor Raceway and Benalla P-12 College worked together to transform the Showroom and Drivers Briefing Room into a stunning event space. The Drivers Briefing Room provided a private area for the debutants as they awaited their presentation, while the Showroom was carefully arranged to accommodate more than 300 guests.

Sixteen debutante couples, comprising 32 debutants, were presented throughout the evening in front of family, friends and loved ones. The venue was beautifully decorated with table linen, thoughtful centrepieces, fairy lights and a sheer curtain backdrop that created an elegant atmosphere for the celebrations.

The Showroom's unique layout allowed guests to enjoy several different spaces throughout the night. Display cars remained on show, providing a distinctive motorsport backdrop, while dining and seating areas were arranged throughout the venue. The bar area offered a relaxed space where guests could gather and enjoy refreshments, including soft drinks and a tea and coffee station.

Adding to the special occasion, a professional photographer captured memories throughout the evening, while the debutants also embraced the opportunity to create their own social media content. One highlight saw the group filming a TikTok transition video on track, moving from casual attire to their formal debutante outfits. The race circuit also provided a spectacular setting for group photographs, creating unique memories that perfectly blended the excitement of Winton Motor Raceway with the significance of the event.

For many of the young men and women attending, particularly those with a passion for cars and motorsport, hosting the Debutant Ball at Winton added an extra level of excitement. The opportunity to celebrate amongst the showroom vehicles and enjoy exclusive access to the circuit made for a truly memorable experience.

The evening was catered by local business Goldhammer Catering, a valued supplier that has worked with Winton Motor Raceway on previous occasions. Guests enjoyed a wonderful selection of food throughout the night, highlighting another great local partnership that Winton is proud to support.

The success of the evening demonstrated the strong community connections between Winton Motor Raceway and Benalla P-12 College. We were delighted to receive positive feedback from the event organisers and look forward to hosting future Debutant Balls. Being part of such an important local tradition is something we are incredibly proud of, and we thank everyone involved for helping make the night such a special occasion.
