Roll Racing to debut at Winton in 2026

The popular motorsport discipline Roll Racing will be held at Winton Motor Raceway throughout 2026, starting this month.

Across the course of the year the Nation’s Action Track will host five Roll Racing on five occasions, with the maiden event taking place on Saturday February 28.

Roll Racing is a grassroots way of getting into motorsport, it is Drag Racing but with a rolling start.

The sport is strictly for road registered vehicles, no racing cars, including drag racing cars are allowed to compete.

Rolling Racing is designed to allow drivers to utilise the capabilities of their daily drive but in a safe and controlled environment, but also with a competitive edge as drivers compete against one another.

Like traditional drag racing, driver’s line-up side-by-side and accelerate down the straight in the attempt to reach the finish line first.

The only difference to traditional Drag Racing is that the two drivers begin with a rolling start rather than a standing start, hence the name Roll Racing.

The roll races are untimed, keeping to its grassroots nature and thus keeping the entry costs down in the process.

Winton Roll Racing runs to the same event permit as the Winton Super Sprints, this means drivers must wear all the required safety gear to compete.

Due to its grass roots nature, Winton Roll Racing allows for passengers to also take part as long as they to have a valid AASA day licence and wear the correct gear.

Like the Super Sprints and Twilight Cruises, passionate fans are allowed to enter for free and soak in the atmosphere around the venue.

The Winton Café will be open, meaning that you can make an evening of it with your car loving friends and family. All events take place from 4pm-8pm.

The entry fee for each Roll Racing participant is $130 and just $25 for each additional passenger.
